Diodes:Product Introduction

Diodes Product Introduction

TOSHIBA's diodes range widely from general-purpose small signal diodes to rectifier diodes mainly used for power sources. There are also an abundant line-up of surface mounting type diodes responding to the higher-performance, higher-density electronic devices.

Rectifier Diode

This diode has been optimized for medium-current high-speed switching such as DC-DC converters and high-efficiency AC adapters. There is an abundant line-up of lead type diodes suitable for voltage-resistant high-density mounting, and surface mounting type ones.

Zener Diodes

A wide range of product classes of voltage is available, centering around the small surface mounting type products. These diodes are one of key devices for the reference voltage, noise clips, etc.

Protection Diodes against ESD

The DF Series is available in four versions to allow trade-offs between diode capacitance and ESD protection levels according to the transmission line frequency.

Switching Diodes

These are general-purpose switching diodes widely used for small signal switching, etc. Mainly provided in the small surface mounting type packages, they are optimum for high-density electronic devices.

Schottky Barrier Diodes

A Schottky barrier diode is an element with a junction of a semiconductor and a metal such as molybdenum in place of P-N junction. Unlike P-N junctioned diodes, it is activated by majority carriers. It is suitable for high-speed switching because the forward voltage is low and the reverse recovery time is short.

Variable Capacity Diodes

These diodes have the capacities variable depending on the value of the reverse bias voltage applied between the anode and the cathode. They are also called VCDs (Variable Capacitance Diodes) or VariCaps. They are mainly used in high-frequency matching circuits for electronic tuning.
